Mahama Urges Timely Completion of Ofankor-Nsawam Road Project

President John Dramani Mahama has advised the Ofankor-Nsawam Road contractors to stick to their plan and finish the project by the middle of 2026 during a site visit on Wednesday, September 3.

While expressing satisfaction with the current state of affairs, Mahama emphasized the significance of keeping up the momentum and minimizing road user discomfort.

“I can see that drivers are pleased with the improvements so far,” he noted. “I urge you to keep traffic flowing smoothly throughout the construction period so that motorists aren’t unduly affected.”

He reminded the contractors of their commitment, saying, “You’ve promised to finish by the end of the second quarter next year, and we’ll hold you to that.”

His comments came following rising public frustration over deteriorating highway conditions and constant traffic jams, particularly on busy routes like Ofankor-Nsawam.

The road project, which began in July 2022 under the Akufo-Addo administration, was initially slated for completion by July 2024 but has faced multiple delays.
